M State’s Invitational Art Show features artwork by 50 area artists

Jon Offut was a Merit Award winner with his blown glass entitled Fat Jar.

The works of 50 area artists are on display through April 29 in Minnesota State Community and Technical College’s 45th Invitational Art Show in the Charles Beck Gallery on the Fergus Falls campus.

The 90 pieces in the show include sculpture, drawings, paintings, photography, ceramics, stained glass, prints and blown glass.

Artists selected for merit awards are Jacqueline J. Anderson, Moorhead; Brad Bachmeier, Fargo; Kathy Braud, Little Falls; Timothy D. Cassidy, New York Mills; Chuck Christianson, Fergus Falls; Faythe Mills, Glenwood; David Norstad, Detroit Lakes; Rhea Northington, Alexandria; Jon Offutt, Fargo; Adam Priebnow, Moorhead; Sean Scott, Battle Lake; Scott Seiler, Fargo; Bertha Vasquez, Dilworth; and Mary Jo Wentz, Battle Lake.

The Charles Beck Gallery is open to the public from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday. There will be a reception for the public and the artists from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, April 29.
