Get in the swing at M State Jazz Band’s spring concert

jazz band concert picGet in the mood with the hot sounds of jazz at the Minnesota State Community and Technical College Jazz Band’s Spring Concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 29, in Waage Theatre on the Fergus Falls campus.

The Jazz Band, directed by Dan Carlson, will heat things up with upbeat swing tunes “In the Mood,” “Jump, Jive and Wail,” “Sing Sang Sung” and “Curly Shuffle.”

The audience will be treated to the funk tune “Crunchy Frog” and favorites such as “Proud Mary” and “Dance to the Music.” There will also be solos by a variety of musicians and a surprise guest that you won’t want to miss!

The band welcomes student vocalists Ashley Forsman of Murdock and Jacob Seeman of St. Cloud singing classic tunes “What a Wonderful World,” “Don’t Get Around Much Anymore” and “Fly Me to the Moon.”

Tickets are $9 in advance and $11 at the door for adults and $7 in advance and $8 at the door for students.
