Come enjoy the talents of the Minnesota State Community and Technical College vocal and instrumental musicians during a series of spring concerts on the Fergus Falls campus during April.
Perham native Benjamin Kadow will join members of the Concert Band for the band’s Spring Concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 15, in Waage Theatre. Master Sgt. Kadow, a trombonist with the U.S. Air Force Band, will perform “Flight of the Bumblebee” and “Moon River” with the band, directed by M State Director of Bands Dan Carlson.
Guest conductor Bryan Poyzer will lead the Chamber Chorale in its spring Showcase at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 17, in Legacy Hall.
The Chamber Chorale will present a variety of literature featuring pieces accompanied by Sylvia Nygaard on piano, Tom Rasmusson on percussion and Laurie Strom’s string ensemble. The concert also will feature several smaller vocal ensembles performing styles ranging from vocal jazz to folk music.
Concert Choir and Voice Ensemble
The Concert Choir and Voice Ensemble will combine music and history as they feature Civil War-era music from the time our area was settled, along with historical narration and the story of an early settler. Directed by Michael Trosvig, the performance will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 22, in Legacy Hall.
The Jazz Band’s annual spring concert is set for 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 29, in Legacy Hall. Watch for more details to come!
Tickets for all four events are $9 in advance and $11 at the door for adults, and $7 in advance and $8 at the door for students.
