Three students from the Moorhead campus of Minnesota State Community and Technical College claimed Top Ten awards at the recent national Business Professionals of America Leadership Conference in Anaheim, Calif.

M State BPA Advisor Nancy Stigen also was honored at the conference for 25 years of service to the organization, which prepares students for careers in business and information technology.

M State student award winners were:

Amanda Rueda De Leon of Fargo, 3rd place in Interview Skills and 7th place in Fundamental Spreadsheets.

Brittney Housholder of Fargo, 7th place in Banking & Finance and 9th place in Managerial Accounting.

Kari Larson of Harwood, 9th place in Prepared Speech.

More than 5,000 BPA members nationwide attended the conference May 6-10 to compete, showcase their business skills and develop their leadership skills. Also representing M State were Shane Brekke and Constance Pearson, who qualified to compete by placing in the Top Ten in the state-level BPA completion earlier this year.

The Moorhead chapter is coached by Stigen and M State business instructor Shelley Lundborg.
