Minnesota State Community and Technical College will have a ceremonial groundbreaking for its Transportation Center expansion at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, on M State’s Moorhead campus.
The $7 million expansion will allow M State to continue its tradition of training highly skilled transportation workers for employers and industries throughout the region.
In addition to providing 23,000 square feet of lab and classroom space for the Diesel Equipment Technology program, the project will renovate another 23,000 square feet of existing space for an expanded Automotive Technology program.
The new facility will welcome its first class of students in the fall of 2016.
Dignitaries on hand for Wednesday’s groundbreaking will include Moorhead Mayor Del Rae Williams, Sen. Kent Eken, Reps. Paul Marquart and Ben Lien, M State President Peggy Kennedy, and industry and student representatives.
