Two instructors on the Detroit Lakes campus of Minnesota State Community and Technical College are being honored with national awards recognizing their excellence in education and college leadership.
Dr. Eric Wilkens and Randy Roberts received Excellence Awards from the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development and will be recognized formally at the NISOD International Conference on Teaching and Learning in Austin, Texas, in May.
Wilkens is an instructor in the college’s Information Technology program, and Roberts is an instructor in the Architectural Technology program. Both began teaching at M State after careers in private industry. Wilkens worked as a network administrator and senior information security specialist in the banking industry, and Roberts was employed in the architectural industry.
NISOD is dedicated to the professional development of higher education faculty, administrators and staff, and to improvements in teaching and learning with the ultimate goal of student success. Its members include more than 700 community colleges around the world.
