Petermann, Bainer recognized as Outstanding Educators

Minnesota State Community and Technical College instructors Shana Petermann and James Bainer have been selected as Outstanding Educators and will be recognized this spring by the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system.

Both are based on the Moorhead campus, where Petermann teaches biology and Bainer is an instructor in the Diesel Technology program.

Petermann and Bainer, who both began teaching at M State in 2004, will be honored at a MnSCU Board of Trustees luncheon April 22 in St. Paul. At the event, the board will announce the selection of its 2015 Educators of the Year from among the Outstanding Educators who were chosen by MnSCU institutions statewide.

The Outstanding Educators were selected by the presidents of their respective colleges based on nominations by students, faculty peers and staff members. M State received nearly 50 nominations for faculty members who have demonstrated exceptional professional accomplishments and exemplify excellence in teaching.

Congratulations to M State’s 2015 Outstanding Educators!
