Chamber Chorale presents ‘Christmas Story’ in music and poetry

The Minnesota State Community and Technical College Chamber Chorale will present “Christmas Story” in choral music and poetry during its holiday concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14, in Legacy Hall on the Fergus Falls campus.

The Chamber Chorale, directed by M State Director of Choral Activities Teresa Ashworth, is comprised of 60 M State singers from area communities including Fergus Falls, Battle Lake, Pelican Rapids, Henning, Moorhead and Fargo.

Chorale member Everett Jacobson will narrate the concert, and the Lakes Area All-Star Brass under the direction of Jim Iverson, also a Chorale member, will open the concert with holiday music. Vocal soloists include Mary Beth Gibson, Carol Tornquist and Kylie Ashworth.

The concert will feature works that include composers Eric Whitacre, Matthew Culloton, Daniel Pinkham, John Rutter, Amy Grant and F. Melius Christiansen.

Ticket prices are $9 in advance and $11 at the door for adults and $7 in advance or $8 at the door for students. Tickets are on sale at the M State Box Office (C325) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and one hour prior to the performances, by calling 736-1600 or online at mstatetickets.com.
