M State hosts series of Career Exploration Workshops

Considering a new career? Wondering about enrolling in college or changing your college major?
Minnesota State Community and Technical College is sponsoring Career Exploration Workshops on its four campuses during June, July and August. The workshops are free and open to high school and college students and to adults who would like to explore their career and education options.

Sessions are scheduled for:
• Wadena: 9 a.m. Tuesday, June 10
• Detroit Lakes: 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 10
• Moorhead: 9 a.m. Wednesday, June 11; 9 a.m. Tuesday, July 15; and 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12
• Fergus Falls: 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 11

Led by M State counselors Tom Dubbels and Maronda Robertson, participants will have the opportunity to:
• Complete personality and interest assessments and review results with professional counselors
• Explore career options
• Learn to use online career search resources

“As career counselors, we want to help students find the right career so they feel like they get to go to work, rather than have to go to work,” Robertson said.

All attendees age 16 and older will receive a $20 Amazon gift card.

The events are free, but registration is required. To sign up for a workshop, visit www.minnesota.edu/explore. For more information, contact Robertson at maronda.robertson@minnesota.edu or 218-299-6618.
