M State celebrates commencement May 13 and 14

Commencement ceremonies will mark the graduation of 1,030 students on the four campuses of Minnesota State Community and Technical College on May 13 and 14.

Spring campus graduation events are open to the public and are scheduled for:

Detroit Lakes: 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, at Detroit Lakes High School. The student speaker is Riana Kaul, who is graduating with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Civil Engineering Technology. The commencement address will be given by Dr. Eric Wilkens, an instructor in the Computer Network Security program and Phi Theta Kappa honor society advisor.

Fergus Falls: 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, in the campus gymnasium, with a reception following the ceremony in Legacy Hall. The student speaker is Drakirah Glenn, who is graduating with an Associate of Arts degree, and the keynote speaker is retired M State counselor Lon Laager.

Moorhead: 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, in the Fargo Civic Auditorium. The student speakers are Kari Larson, who is graduating with an AAS degree in Accounting, and two graduates of the Sign Language Interpreter Preparation AAS degree program, Sabrina Milburn and Julianna Casey.

Wadena: 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, in the Wadena-Deer Creek High School Gymnasium. The student speaker is Natalie Tupy, president of the campus Student Government Association, who is graduating with an AA degree. A reception for graduates and their families will follow the ceremony at the high school.
