Freeman, Haagenson honored as Outstanding Educators

FreemanHaagensonMinnesota State Community and Technical College instructors Roberta Freeman and Loren Haagenson are among 30 faculty members statewide who have been recognized as Outstanding Educators by the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System.

Freeman is a communication and English instructor on M State’s Fergus Falls campus, and Haagenson is an instructor in the Human Resources program on the college’s Moorhead campus.

The 30 instructors, who teach at 17 colleges around the state, will be honored at an April 23 event by the MnSCU Board of Trustees. At the event, the board will also announce the selection of its 2014 Educators of the Year.

The Outstanding Educators were selected by the presidents of their respective colleges based on nominations by student, faculty peers and staff members. The award reflects the commitment the educators have demonstrated in teaching, in their continuous professional development and in their service to students, the college, their profession and the MnSCU system.
