WDS iconM State has been providing industry-recognized small engine technician training since 1967.

A 69-credit PowerSports Technology Associate of Applied Science degree, 60-credit diploma and 30-credit certificate are offered on our Moorhead campus, in close proximity to some of the best recreational areas Minnesota has to offer.

Students receive training in the areas of:

  • Small engines
  • Motorcycles
  • Snowmobiles
  • Marine

While you're enrolled in your program, you can earn industry certifications from manufacturers including:

  • Honda
  • Yamaha
  • Polaris
  • Arctic Cat
  • BRP
  • Mercury
  • Briggs & Stratton
  • Stihl
  • Kohler
  • Equipment and Engine Training Counsel (EETC): Two-Stroke, Four-Stroke and Electrical

In addition, a PowerSports Club promotes professional growth opportunities for students in the program.

PowerSports Technology's innovative flexible scheduling, modeled after industry training programs, makes it possible to tailor your college coursework to accommodate work and family commitments.

Many students work for dealerships while attending M State or following graduation. Students also are often hired by race teams, factories, business owners or service managers.
