Here's what our program partners are saying

Jennifer Taylor is a business instructor in the Milaca High School and a Concurrent Enrollment program partner with M State’s Administrative Support Program. Through the partnership, high school students in Taylor’s class have an opportunity to enroll in a 90-hour Career Internship course which gives them work experience at local businesses that fits each student’s career interests. Taylor shared her thoughts about the benefits of the internship for her students.

Through their internships, my students get to learn valuable workplace skills, along with getting to see more about an industry or career that they are interested in. The internship also gives them a “leg up” on other students in future job situations, interviews, scholarship opportunities and even in getting admitted to the college of their choice. They learn way more than they thought they would just by being in the office environment.

Businesses have found that our students are very good workers, learn quickly and bring fresh new energy and ideas to the workplace – and they enjoy the level of knowledge students have about social media and using their skills to market their business. Businesses get new ideas and suggestions that they hadn’t considered or asked about before – at times, the students bring a fresh look to old problems. The students are impressed with the level of responsibility they are given and enjoy being treated as adults in the workplace.
