Moorhead Student Life

Check out these opportunities to get involved on our Moorhead campus!

Student Government Association

SGA logoThe Moorhead campus Student Government Association meets from 3-4:30 p.m. Thursdays in C121. Visitors are welcome, and you can contact Director of Student Engagement Scott Ebsen to get on the agenda.

Students elected to the SGA make decisions to reflect the interests and opinions of Moorhead campus students. It operates under the M State SGA constitutions and bylaws, and decisions are determined by voting.

New student senators are elected each fall and spring semester. If you’re interested in joining the SGA, watch your email for a link to the nomination form or get a copy of the current nomination form from Scott Ebsen and submit it by the specified due date.

Eligibility requirements for SGA include: Be a current student, enroll in at least six credits; have a minimum GPA of 2.0 (except for first-semester nominees) and attend SGA meetings weekly.

M State Fitness Center

Fitness CenterYour student fees support the Fitness Center, so there are no additional fees to use all the services! Stop by the center, located on the west side of campus (just inside door W2), and check out all it offers.

After signing a membership agreement, you are welcome to participate in all events, attend group fitness classes and schedule personal training. Both equipment orientation and fitness assessments are available so you can feel more comfortable and confident using the entire facility. A student ID and a pair of clean, dry sneakers are REQUIRED.

Group exercise classes are offered daily. If you have wanted to try a class but are feeling hesitant, come give us a try! We have multi-level classes focused on beginners, but advanced participants are guaranteed a great workout. Choose from yoga, pilates, meditation, dance fitness and a variety of core classes. Lockers are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Fitness Center now has TRX (suspension trainers), Core Flytes and a Life Fitness PowerMill.

If you're interested in a work study position at the center, please contact Fitness Center Director Kay Wilder.
