20th Anniversary Tree Dedication Ceremony - Fergus Falls Campus
Join us to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Minnesota State Community and Technical College!
M State is marking the milestone with special activities, commemorative publications and celebratory events – including public tours and Tree Dedication Ceremonies this fall at each of the college’s four campuses in Detroit Lakes, Fergus Falls, Moorhead and Wadena.
The tree dedication ceremonies will each feature a brief talk by M State President Carrie Brimhall along with the local community mayor and a local M State alum. A commemorative tree will be planted outside the main building of each campus, and snacks and beverages will be served.
The M State-Fergus Falls Tree Dedication Ceremony will be held Thursday, October 5 at 11 a.m. in Legacy Hall (C330A or W600D entrance). Fergus Falls Mayor Ben Schierer will be a featured local speaker, along with Fergus Area College Foundation Vice President Jeff Stanislawski and M State alum Stacey Herbel.
All are welcome.
Attendees will be invited to stay afterward for an artist reception that begins at 1 p.m. that day in the Waage Art Gallery, with several local artists whose work is currently featured at the gallery.
M State came into being in July 2003 upon a vote of approval by the Board of Trustees of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system, which had previously decided to create the new multicampus two-year college by merging three former Northwest Regional Technical College campuses (in Detroit Lakes, Moorhead and Wadena) with the community college in Fergus Falls.
