Description
This course provides the fundamentals of computer-aided drafting using the latest version of AutoCAD drafting software. The course develops the fundamental CADD skills necessary to produce and print complex drawings and sheet sets.
Competencies
  1. Demonstrate proper use of the computer operating system.
  2. Format Autocad drawing settings.
  3. Utilize ribbons and context sensitive menus to produce drawings.
  4. Apply basic geometric construction tools to produce drawings.
  5. Apply modifying techniques to drawing geometry.
  6. Analyze dimensioning techniques and dimension terminology.
  7. Calculate dimension and linetype scale factors.
  8. Create drawing layouts.
  9. Calculate scale factors for plotting drawing geometry.
  10. Apply hatching techniques to appropriate drawing geometry.
  11. Create block geometry and attribute definitions.
  12. Interface with the Autocad Design Center to share drawing geometry.
  13. Analyze drawing settings and utility commands.
