• Associate of Arts degree

By earning your Associate of Arts degree, you’ll fulfill the first two years of most four-year degree programs.

Our program

An M State Associate of Arts degree - also called a University Transfer degree - provides a broad general education that prepares you to pursue a bachelor's degree at a four-year college or university.

When you graduate with an AA degree, you will have completed the Minnesota Transfer Curriculum (MnTC) requirements for all the state universities in Minnesota, the University of Minnesota and many other private and public institutions, including those in North Dakota.

Nearly half of the students who enroll at M State plan to earn an AA degree and continue their education at a four-year institution. The AA degree is offered on our campuses in Detroit Lakes, Fergus Falls, Moorhead and Wadena, and online through eCampus.

Transferring from M State

M State's academic advisors work with students seeking an AA degree to tailor courses and create a curriculum based on individual career interests. Course requirements can vary according to your intended major and the four-year institution you plan to attend, so our focus is on a personalized education plan for each student. If you are undecided about your major, our advisors can help you plan your education options.

More info can be found by visiting our transfer page.
