Architectural Drafting and Design Faculty
218.846.3725 - Wadena campus
Randy Roberts has an architectural technology degree from Northland Community College and completed the Teachers Education Series at Bemidji State University. He brings extensive experience to the classroom, having spent more than a decade as a project manager for an architectural firm and over 20 years as a residential designer. His professional background allows him to connect real-world practices with academic instruction, helping students understand both the technical and practical sides of the field. In his teaching, Roberts emphasizes a “work hard, play hard” philosophy. He encourages students to avoid procrastination, prioritize their responsibilities and take pride in completing their work, while also recognizing the importance of balance and making time to recharge. His goal is to prepare students not only for successful careers but for sustainable, fulfilling professional lives. Outside the classroom, he enjoys spending time on his property, riding ATV and UTV trails, watching wildlife, hunting, and caring for his cattle. A fun fact his students may not know: he’s a dedicated music fan who especially enjoys live concerts and festivals.
