Jennifer Beyer has bachelor's and master's degrees from Bemidji State University and a reading specialist certificate from St. Cloud State University. She has served as an advisor for M State's Phi Theta Kappa chapter and the Anime Club, reflecting her commitment to student engagement beyond the classroom.
Beyer believes writing is a form of thinking and that literature is the study of human experience. In her writing and literature courses, she challenges students to meet college-level expectations while supporting their growth in skill and confidence. She values authentic voice, curiosity and intellectual engagement, and her goal is to help students develop the habits of mind essential for strong reading, writing and critical thinking across disciplines and beyond the classroom.
Outside of teaching, Beyer enjoys travel and road trips, along with camping, photography, concerts, reading, writing, following hockey, and exploring new educational technology tools.
