The Associate of Science in Environmental Science is designed to provide students an avenue to a four-year environmental science degree, preparing them for a career in an environmental field. The program emphasizes a broad background in natural sciences, ensuring students are properly prepared for further study at an advanced level.
Associate of Science (AS) - 60 credits
Program outcomes
- Utilize the scientific method to formulate and test hypotheses through experimental design.
- Explain and apply basic principles of natural and physical sciences.
- Relate principles of biology and chemistry to environmental systems.
- Evaluate the inter-relatedness of human social, ethical and political issues and the natural environment.
- Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
- Apply, evaluate and synthesize laboratory techniques, field methods, data collection and data analysis.
