M State, BSU launch new transfer pathway in Sport Management

M State and Bemidji State University (BSU) are making it easier for students to turn their passion for sports into a four-year degree through a new seamless transfer agreement.

The partnership creates a clear, streamlined pathway from M State’s Associate of Applied Science in Sport Management to BSU’s Bachelor of Arts in Sport Management, allowing students to begin their education close to home and build on that foundation without losing time or credits.

Under the agreement, BSU accepts up to 60 credits from M State’s program, enabling students to enter the university with half of their bachelor’s degree already completed. The pathway offers a flexible, affordable option for students interested in careers in athletics, recreation, sports marketing and related fields.

Many courses transfer directly and meet degree requirements, including key general education and degree-specific courses. Some M State coursework transfers as junior- and senior-level credit, helping students avoid repeating classes and stay on track for graduation.

The agreement took effect in June 2026 and will remain in place through 2031.
