Tuition for all M State students is set annually by the Minnesota State system Board of Trustees and is charged on a per-credit basis. Fees are assessed to students depending on enrollment status, courses attempted and services offered by the campus attended. Fees unique to a program or a class are detailed in the course requirement list.

Reciprocity
Reciprocity agreements exist between Minnesota and North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin. Students from these states attending M State pay tuition below the nonresident rate.
North Dakota students must submit a reciprocity application to determine eligibility; find the application at North Dakota University System ND-MN Reciprocity. For students from South Dakota or Wisconsin, no action is required.
