Nordick receives national business award

October 15th, 2009 to January 15th, 2010

Pat Nordick, chief financial officer at Minnesota State Community and Technical College, has been named the 2009 Outstanding Chief Business Officer by the national Community College Business Officers organization for the Midwest region. The award cites Nordick for his distinguished service to M State and the communities where the college's four campuses are located. The award is given annually to college business officers who exemplify outstanding accomplishments in the performance of their assigned responsibilities; participation in state, regional and national activities; and community leadership, service and involvement. M State President Ann Valentine said the college is fortunate to have Nordick's professional service and is honored that he has received national recognition for his work. "Although the last few years have been very challenging fiscally, Pat's leadership has enabled our college to improve its fiscal ratios each year of the last three years, and we have improved our reserve fund to meet state Board of Trustees standards," Valentine said. "In addition to keeping our finances in good order, Pat carries himself with a very high level of collegiality and integrity. His colleagues appreciate his good humor as well as his strong leadership." Award winners are nominated and chose by their peers. Nordick will be recognized during the Community College Business Officers annual international conference in November.
