Distinctive Programs at Detroit Lakes

Center of Excellence for technical and flexible education

Every student has a goal, and choosing a college that will help you reach that goal is one of the most important decisions you can make in the course of your education. Finding a college that has the programs you require can be difficult, and it may be even harder to find one that will help you continue to pursue your goals even after you graduate. The Detroit Lakes campus of Minnesota State Community and Technical College aims to fulfill the needs of all its students and provides a variety of distinctive programs and services to help every learner reach their ultimate goals.

PowerSports Technology: Master the mechanics of high performance vehicles. Work with industry experts to service motorcycles, ATVs, snowmobiles and more.

Marine Engine Technology: Join one of the only programs available in the Midwest where students receive a degree in boat engine design and repair.

Radiological Technology: Enter the medical field. Learn to assist radiologists in providing a high-level of radiological expertise to patients in hospitals, clinics, extended care facilities, nursing homes, and other health care settings.

Computer Network Security: Learn how to manage and secure computer networks to prevent malicious hackers from stealing or destroying sensitive information.

Web Development: Discover the untapped potential of the Internet. Study the structure and design of websites so that you can create pages for public, personal, and commercial use.

While the programs above, and the dozens more offered at Detroit Lakes, may seem to appeal to completely different people, there is one aspect that holds together everyone at our campus: Entrepreneurial spirit.

Entrepreneurial Focus

Entrepreneurship is that drive and desire to be the best you can be as an employee, or that motivation to start your own business and work for yourself. At M State - Detroit Lakes we strive to unite all of our programs and services with that one common thread . . . with the proper education and desire you can travel down any life-path you wish.

The Business & Entrepreneurial Services Center

And this entrepreneurial spirit exists outside the classroom as well! If your desire is to take your education and use it to start a small business, we can help! Idea incubation, networking, and solid business advice are all available, even after you graduate!
