Programs unique to the Detroit Lakes campus include Architectural Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, Business Entrepreneurship, Information Technology, Marine Engine Technology and Power Sports Technology. If your goal is a bachelor's degree, you can start at M State - Detroit Lakes with our Associate of Arts transfer degree that allows you to complete the first two years of your four-year degree. In all our programs, our low faculty-to-student ratios provide you with the opportunity for one-on-one attention from instructors, while exceptional student support services help you achieve academic success. RSVP for a new student Orientation, Assessment, and Registration Session on the Detroit Lakes Campus The CommunityThe beautiful Detroit Lakes area has 412 lakes within a 25-mile radius and offers some of Minnesota's premier outdoor recreation. Summer is the busy time in lakes country with fishing, water sports, golfing on 14 challenging area courses and some of the largest events in the world. The 4th of July brings thousands to the city's mile-long beach to enjoy the water, fun and free fireworks show. In August, the city hosts WE Fest, the world's largest outdoor country music festival. The fall and winter bring ice fishing, snowmobiling, hunting, cross country skiing and downhill skiing. The community has a vibrant downtown district, and it's a short drive to the Fargo-Moorhead metropolitan area. Detroit Lakes has a population of approximately 8,600 in the off-season and 30,000 in the summer. Turn RIGHT on Kris Street, cross over the railroad tracks, turning left onto Randolph Road and go 0.9 miles to the stop sign at Roosevelt Ave. Turn right and go .05 miles north, to the second stop light, turn RIGHT on MN-34, go 0.2 miles, arriving at the M State Campus, 900 Highway 34 East, Detroit Lakes.
Enter the city on US-34 West, to the Cenex Station, M State is located on your right, arriving at the campus, 900 Highway 34 East, Detroit Lakes.
Enter the city on US-10 East to the stop light intersection of US-10 & US-59. Turn LEFT and go 0.2 miles over the bridge, turn RIGHT on MN-34 and go 1.1 miles, arriving at the M State Campus, 900 Highway 34 East, Detroit Lakes.
