Steve King is in his 10th year as the head coach of the Spartans. He graduated from Eagle Bend High School in 1983 and played two years for the Fergus Falls Community College Spartans, was a captain and named the most valuable player of the 1984 team. King was an assistant coach for the Spartans for 15 years, 14 as the defensive coordinator, before going to Itasca Community College for the 2006 season where they compiled a 3-6 record. From 1994 to 1999 he was the head baseball coach and the defensive coordinator at the University of Minnesota Crookston. He and his wife, Marci, have four children: Joel, Marshall, Olivia and Levi.

Korey Fry: Defensive Coordinator

Kory is in his second season as the defensive coordinator for the Spartans. He spent the 2014 season on the offensive side coaching wide receivers. Fry, a native of Detroit, played for the Spartan in 2006 and 2007 and was first team All- Conference and an All Region player both years. He also was the 2007 team captain. Korey is a great addition to the Spartan staff with his ability to relate to the players and the energy he brings. Korey and his wife Mary have two children, Kadyn and Alayah.

Zach Stich: Offensive Coordinator

Fergus Falls native and former Spartan Zach Stich returns for his ninth year as an assistant coach and his sixth as the offensive coordinator. Stich played for the Spartans in 2004. He graduated from Bemidji State University with a degree in history and has a master's degree in education from Southwest State University. Zach and his wife, Claire, have two children, Jared and Rachel.

Josh Altenhof: Running Backs

Josh Altenhof is in his second year with the Spartan football program, working with running backs. Altenhof played on the offensive line for the Spartans in 2010 and returned to the playing field again in 2013. He is from Palm Bay, Fla., and is currently completing his associate degree from M State's Fergus Falls campus with plans to pursue degrees in teaching and coaching.

Dave Monson: Community Volunteer

Dave Monson's commitment to Spartan football began in 1979 as a defensive back and continues in his role as a special assistant to the football program. He has coached almost every position on the field and was the defensive coordinator of the 1983 squad. After his Fergus Falls playing days, Monson played two years at Southwest State University.

He is a native of Fargo and graduated from Oak Grove Lutheran Academy. Dave is married to Gina, and they have two children, Ana Grace and Jacob.

Adam Schueller: Offensive Line

2010 Fergus Falls High School graduate Adam Schueller enters his second year on the Spartan staff as the offensive line coach. Adam graduated from NDSU with a bachelor's degree in Sports Management and a minor in Business Administration. Adam played football at NDSU and has four FCS National Championship rings. Adam is currently employed through Lake Region Healthcare as a personal trainer at the Health and Wellness Hub.

Hayden Zenner: Running Backs

Another Fergus Falls native, Hayden Zenner, returns to the Spartans as the running backs coach. Hayden played for the Spartans in 2012 and 2013, earning All-Division and All-Region honors. Hayden continued his football career at Presentation College as a running back and was named All American for the 2014 and 2015 seasons. He graduated from Presentation with a degree in Business Management and currently works through Lake Region Healthcare in the Business Department.
