Detroit Lakes Area Foundation

Denise A. Laymon was named Minnesota State Community and Technical College's first executive director of foundations and alumni development in January 2013.

Before joining M State, Laymon served as development associate for the Lake Region Healthcare Foundation in Fergus Falls from 2011 to 2013 and as executive director of the Thief River Falls Education Foundation from 1999 to 2011.

Her previous experience also included five years as director of the Association of Fundraising Professionals ND, where she worked with nonprofits in North Dakota and northwestern Minnesota. She has several years of newspaper advertising experience working for the Thief River Falls Times and the Devils Lake (ND) Daily Journal.

Laymon earned both her master's degree in strategic leadership and her bachelor's degree in business management from the University of Mary in Bismarck, N.D., and she completed her degree in sales and marketing at what is now Northland Community and Technical College in Thief River Falls. She is scheduled to complete her MBA in 2014 from the University of Mary. She has also earned numerous certifications in nonprofit management and leadership.

 

Fergus Area College Foundation

Lori Larson

In July 2014, Lori Larson was named executive director of Fergus Area College Foundation, which supports the work of the Fergus Falls campus of Minnesota State Community and Technical College through student scholarships and funding for special programs.

Larson previously served as a regional specialist for the Central Minnesota Area Health Education Center. She was the community and public relations director and foundation director for Lake Region Healthcare in Fergus Falls before joining the staff at M State - Fergus Falls Campus. She also brings media and marketing experience as a previous general manager of the Fergus Falls Daily Journal, and she has extensive volunteer experience with marketing and nonprofit work in the Fergus Falls area.

Larson earned her Associate in Arts degree at what was then Fergus Falls Community College and is a graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead.


 

Moorhead Community and Technical College Foundation

Mark Altenburg

Mark Altenburg was named director of advancement for the Moorhead Community and Technical College Foundation in September 2013 after a career that has included positions in the private and non-profit sectors and in education.

Altenburg, a Fargo native, most recently was an adjunct instructor in English, humanities, philosophy and religion at several Fargo-Moorhead area colleges including Minnesota State University Moorhead and M State. He earned his bachelor's degree in English and humanities from North Dakota State University before attending graduate school at Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary and Luther Seminary. He finished his graduate degree at Hamline University with a master's in liberal studies.


 

Wadena Area Foundation

Lisa Reddick

Lisa Reddick joined M State - Wadena Campus in 2013. Reddick is a native of Wadena and has a passion for growing the community, as well as M State. She has an extensive background in leadership roles both in Wadena and in larger metropolitan areas prior to moving back home to raise her family.

Reddick has a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Bemidji State University.
